The following Cosmic Weather Forecast for Sagittarius Season features excerpts from Sagittarius: The Wildfire, my 30-page ebook that explores the ins and outs of the zodiac sign, from the meaning of its glyph and mythologies, to its good & bad sides. You can find that ebook, along with other Sagittarius goodies (including candles and necklaces!) in my Sagittarius Gift Collection.
Scorpio season was intense to say the least (what, with the election, that wild full moon, and the emotional wreckage both brought with them), so it should come as a source of comfort to know that Scorpio season is o-v-e-r. That’s right, it’s time to wave goodbye to the crises, drama, and Batman-style brooding of Scorpio, and welcome in the optimism and fun of Sagittarius. Yep, now that the Sun has entered fiery Sagittarius, it brings a personal and collective shift in focus.
Sagittarius season, which runs from Nov. 21st thru Dec. 21st, is a season of big goals, big plans, and big parties with friends. Why big? Well, the Archer is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of largesse, imparting its big-ness onto the zodiac sign. It’s no coincidence that Thanksgiving and Black Friday—two days devoted to extreme excess—take place during Sagittarius season. The sign is all about thinking, living, and doing things in a big, grand, larger-than-life way.
Like Gemini, Sagittarius is exceedingly curious, and their megaminds explore subjects with enthusiasm and earnestness. As ruler of the 9th House of the Higher Mind, Sagittarius is focused on higher learning and advanced education. Archers naturally question everything they encounter with the aim of puncturing pretense and deception, and injecting truth…
The Sun in Sagittarius also gives us permission to shoot for the stars. During this time of the year, we are insatiably curious and eager to explore new ways of thinking. Sagittarius season stokes the fire of our inner explorer, inner philosopher, and inner sage. So not only does this season crank up our hunger for knowledge, it also has us itching to make new connections with new people, places, and things.
And though Archers dream big, they aren’t as attached to their ambitions as some other signs. In fact, they’re more likely to switch gears midway through their life journey if something more promising comes along. Unlike the more ego-driven, competitive fire signs Aries and Leo—who are easily wounded by a loss—the Centaur doesn’t take losing too personally. Botched plans roll off their back, and they welcome failures with a smile. This is largely because Sagittarius is the most open-minded and lighthearted of all the fire signs.
The part of your chart ruled by the mutable fire sign is where the Sun is igniting your inner Sagittarian, encouraging you to be open-minded, light-hearted, and adventurous in that area of your life. That said, this year’s Sagittarius season isn’t going to be like the last. Not only because we’re living under wildly different circumstances, but also because of Mercury & Mars retrograde.
