What: Libra Full Moon
When: April 12, 2025
Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Libra & Aries
TL;DR: thanks to a tetchy opposition from wounded healer Chiron, this full moon shines a bright light on the painful imbalance of power and the conflicts causing more harm than good—but it’s also a pivotal moment to heal those hurts and rebalance the scales.
Our fourth Full Moon of 2025 arrives this Saturday at 6:22 pm MT, lighting up the sky in fair-minded air sign Libra. This April full moon—the first non-eclipse lunation since February—spotlights all matters of justice, harmony, and the imbalances therein. Known as the Paschal Moon and the Pink Moon (because of the pink wildflowers blooming around this time), the 2025 Libra Full Moon is more of a Pain Moon, thanks to its cranky opposition to wounded healer Chiron.
FYI, this full moon might burn a little. Full moons are like cosmic flashlights, illuminating what we might not otherwise see; and a full moon in Libra shines a bright light on justice/injustice and harmony/disharmony, as well as the balance/imbalances in your life and relationships. But its opposition to Chiron in Aries is singeing wounds you didn’t know were still bleeding, inflaming the pre-existing pains surrounding leadership, conflict, partnerships and identity, and urging us to heal and release.
2025 Chiron Cazimi
It’s not every full moon that we get a triggering opposition from Chiron, the wounded healer asteroid that reminds us what hurts so we can actually heal it, but this one has that and more. On Saturday, Chiron also aligns with the Sun in Aries, making what we call a cazimi. The wounded healer is in the heart of the Aries Sun, experiencing a brief, but intense re-baptism by fire.
On the one hand, the Chiron cazimi offers clarity and catharsis. It shines a hot white light on our collective wounds around conflict, courage, self-expression, and individual agency. On the other hand, that same light exposes just how far we’ll go to avoid discomfort. And that is where Libra gets caught in the crossfire.
Aries is adept at conflict and confrontation; so, the Sun-Chiron conjunction (cazimi) is helpful for not just spotting the wounds and injuries we have about our own leadership (in)abilities and/or identity, but for confronting them head on. The problem here is Libra’s proclivity to avoid what’s painful and unpretty. This cardinal air sign loves to remain emotionally detached so it can attain and sustain its beloved equilibrium and fairness. So, the 2025 Libra full moon is shining a bright light not just on our collective habits of conflict avoidance, but also on the impact those habits have on our sense of justice.
2025 Libra Full Moon for the Collective
Yes, Libra is the penultimate sign of homeostasis, and everything Libra says or does needs to be just right so Libra can keep the boat from rocking and keep everyone content. But that’s the problem—and this full moon knows it. Libra is the zodiac’s peacekeeper, perfectionist, and diplomat. Everything Libra does—every word, every action, every outfit—is designed to keep the scales balanced and the chaos at bay. This full moon reminds us that the pursuit of harmony at the expense of honesty is no longer sustainable.
This isn’t just a personal revelation either. Collectively, the Libra Full Moon highlights the places we perform justice and equality without actually embodying it. The Chiron Cazimi in Aries points to the searing pains inflicted by conflict and authority, as well as our collective wounds around authority, conflict, and leadership. The cazimi can purify those wounds, but only when we let the light of the Libra Full Moon illuminate them. We can’t heal what we don’t see or refuse to look at. And look, we know Libra loves diplomacy—but sometimes diplomacy is just procrastination and conflict avoidance in a prettier package. Saturday’s Full Moon is a one-two punch for acknowledging the ways we’ve avoided conflict just to “keep the peace” and then doing something about it.
