Notable Astrology Happening This Week:
Dec. 18 – Sun in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces, 27°
Dec. 20 – Venus in Aquarius trine Jupiter Rx in Gemini, 14°
Dec. 21 – Sun enters Capricorn (Solstice)
How are you feeling after the full moon? I found Sunday’s Gemini full moon to be quite energizing (whereas other full moons I’m either weepy, fatigued, or I just lose my shit), and I think this buoyancy carries us through this week. And my, what a week it is! Though nothing BIG happens this week, and nothing (like, at all) happens Monday / Tuesday, there are still two MAJOR events heading your way. And you want to pay attention to them.
Dec. 18 – Sun in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces, 27°
Come hump day, Neptune in Pisces squares the Sun in Sagittarius, which is as dreamy as it is overwhelming. Both Pisces & Sagittarius love to let their minds wander, often to their own detriment. In fact, these two mutable signs are notorious escape artists, fleeing from the limits of their mundane responsibilities. They’re escapists, but they Houdini their limits in strikingly different ways. Which is where the square aspect comes in.
The Sun in Sagittarius wants to gallop towards a shiny new goal, new truth, or new promising horizon; whereas Neptune in Pisces wants to soak in the ideals, feels, and nebulous creative visions that promise asylum. Sometimes you need to escape the confines of your everyday life (if not literally, then mentally and/or emotionally) to be able to cope with it. And if you heed the siren call of Neptune by permitting yourself time for daydreaming while also honoring the Sun in Sagittarius’ yearning to explore something BIG, you’ll be fine. If not, then Wednesday might just feel a bit murky, confusing, and/or tiring.
Underneath it all, this Sun-Neptune square—the brain fog, tension, or escapist feelings it imparts—has to do with relationships, values, creativity, beauty and mmmmaybe money. (As in: you feel drained by one, two, or all of these things.) Because of its ties to Friday.
Dec. 20 – Venus in Aquarius trine Jupiter Rx in Gemini, 14°
Feeling lucky, flirty, or both? Sagittarius & Pisces are ruled by Jupiter; and today, Jupiter Retrograde in Gemini makes this lovely (and I do mean lovely) trine to Venus in Aquarius. I LOVE THIS ASTROLOGY SO MUCH. Mostly because it’s aspecting and affecting my Sun, Rising sign, and Jupiter! (If you have any Air / Fire sign placement near 14°, it’s impacting YOU as well.) But I also love Venus in Aquarius trine Jupiter Rx in Gemini because it speaks to a lovely exchange of ideas, a sweet moment of connectivity, expansion and/or growth.
Venus trine Jupiter isn’t going to “do” anything for you (trines tend to just feel buoyant and easygoing), but it does support pleasure, good cheer, generosity, benevolence, and all-around sweetness. To really utilize this awesome astrological moment, focus on giving: romance, relationships, compliments, love, good humor…Launch a book! Tell someone they look lovely! Go on a date! Create art with your besties, or just have a dance party in your living room. Any and everything fun and ~slightly~ frivolous wins!
Dec. 21 – Sun enters Capricorn (Solstice)
According to a number of astrologers, this is a “threshold.” Funny, because for years in my life and hemisphere, it just meant the darkest day of the year. Still, it’s a day that marks the Sun’s entrance into Capricorn. Contrary to what Capricorn is all about, I think it’s a really good day to rest. To take stock of what you’ve accomplished this year, what you want to accomplish next year, and what’s already working in your life. Capricorn loves to be productive, organized, and hustle its heinie off, but what if you…didn’t pressure yourself to do that, if only for one day? I’ll have your Capricorn Season forecast this Saturday!
The Ultimate 2025 Astrology Gift Guide
As mentioned in the subtitle of this post, I’ve got YOUR holiday gift guide. Because, yes: it’s that time of the year again. Maybe you’ve got a list (or at least a vague idea of one). Or maybe you’ve been finding yourself staring at your virtual shopping cart wondering, “What the eff am I to buy the fellow astrology lovers in my life?” Well, don’t worry; I’ve got you covered—because nothing says “I totally didn’t forget about you until last week. Hahaha…” quite like a thoughtful, cosmic gift from Cosmic Cannibal.
Even if you’ve already stuffed the stockings of your besties and family, this is a must read list. Why? I’m teasing some MAJOR astrological tips about 2025 throughout. Because I don’t know if you know, but 2025 is going to be a groundbreaking, new-era, whole-different-status-quo kind of year. (Gulp.) Anyway, here are my top picks for astrology gifts that are oh-so stellar.
1. Jupiter Returns (the novel)
Yes, I’m leading with my debut novel because, hello, it’s THE gift for anyone who’s into astrology, romcoms, or chaotic-yet-magical career journeys. Packed with laugh-out-loud moments, swoon-worthy romance, career drama, and astrological insights, it’s the perfect read for anyone navigating a Jupiter Return.
Speaking of Jupiter Returns…though based around the Jupiter in Gemini transit, Jupiter Returns is a must-have for the Jupiter in Gemini and Jupiter in Cancer natives out there. Why? Well, Jupiter moves into Cancer in June 2025, so if you want to know: a) what to expect during the rest of the Jupiter journey in Gemini, or b) how to navigate the upcoming Jupiter in Cancer transit, this novel shows how YOU can best work with the planet of plenty and unlock your luck.
2. 2025 Birth Chart Reading
Okay, here’s the thing: 2025 isn’t just another year—it’s one of those years. And I’m not trying to fear-monger here; rather, I just want you to be aware, to know. Saturn moves into Aries, Neptune moves into Aries (which hasn’t happened since the Civil War—eek), Jupiter moves into Cancer (which is actually grand), and Uranus moves into Gemini (which hasn’t happened since WWII—eek2). So, it’s a year filled with big transits, big energy, big potential for growth, change, and freak-outs alike. I kid you not: 2025 is ALL about change.
We move out of the 29th degree (which is the degree of culmination and *ahem* reckoning) into the 0 degree, which is a degree of fresh starts and super new beginnings. This personalized birth chart session is the ultimate sneak peek into the astro-drama that’s heading their (or your) way. Whether it’s career breakthroughs, relationship shakeups, or an "OMG, is this my moment?" kind of vibe, I’ll cover all the major shifts and opportunities. It’s the gift of clarity (and maybe a little less anxiety). Bonus: they’ll think you’re psychic for knowing exactly what they needed.
3. 2025 Astrology Guide
Every astrology lover needs a road map for the year ahead, and this guide delivers. Packed with key dates, major transits, and tips for navigating each and every one of 2025’s biggest astrological weather patterns, it’s like having me in your back pocket. I break down each transit to help YOU understand the vibe, the mission, the strengths & opportunities, as well as the potential struggles. I also give some historical context and clues into what you can expect personally and collectively. This digital guide downloads instantly—and can be emailed to your giftee of choice.
(My other guides: Moon Sign Mastery Workbook & Cosmic Chemistry: an Astrology Synastry Love Guide, are also fabulous choices for a quick, easy, and fun digital gift for your favorite astro-lover. Or you can browse ALL my astrology books & guides.)
4. Zodiac T-Shirts
Who doesn’t love a cozy, astrology-themed t-shirt? They’re equal parts stylish and comfortable—perfect for lounging, stargazing, or taking selfies with their favorite natal chart app. (My favorites are the Zodiac Mandala shirts! I have one in Aries—why, I don’t know, since I’m not an Aries, but I love it nonetheless.)
So why not help your loved ones (or yourself) prepare for what’s coming? These gifts aren’t just thoughtful—they’re practically essential.
5. A Subscription to the Cosmic Almanac
What’s a better gift than weekly astrology content delivered straight to their inbox? You already know The Cosmic Almanac breaks down transits, horoscopes, and more with a snarky, savvy, self-aware twist. Which makes it perfect for anyone who wants to plan their week like a pro—or just needs an excuse to scroll their email at work. This subscription is going to be a lifesaver when we move into 2025, and we’re staring down the barrel of Mars opposite Pluto (part two—except this time, it’s in fixed signs), Mars Retrograde in Cancer, Venus Retrograde in Aries, AND the new Pisces/Virgo eclipse series.
A Cosmic Cannibal Gift Card will also suffice 😉
