Repeat after me: I am not going to fear the lunar eclipse or Mercury Retrograde. Popular (ie: capitalist) astrology likes to fear monger both eclipses and Mercury Retrograde, painting them as terrible days that ruin lives and email contact lists; when in reality, they’re a normal part of astrology. So, I encourage you not to dread Mercury Retrograde or the Virgo Lunar Eclipse—no matter what you hear. Instead, let them unfold. Since both transits happen later in the week (Friday for many), we build up to them Monday onward, so what they are unfolding should become clear, pretty quick. (I say that because eclipses accelerate situations, and it’s their rapid speed of unfoldment that makes them feel SO INTENSE.)
So, before all of the eclipse / retrograde furor, we get some slightly helpful astrology. Tuesday is a day for bold conversations about money, art, or justice, thanks to a conjunction between Mercury and Venus. Since Venus is retrograde, the conversations or news stories might be about the future trajectory of a past project / person / job / relationship. We might see another round of tariff backtracks or a reversal of negotiations—what was promised may be suddenly off the table. Come Wednesday, the Sun and Saturn align in Pisces, which is a sobering moment of clarity and realism. It’s a chance to get clear about what you want, what dream business / brand / life you’re trying to build, and why you want to build it at all. Politically, there might be a harsh reality check as “leaders” double down on rules, restrictions, or cuts.
Then, we reach the end of the week.
On Thursday/ Friday, the Virgo Lunar Eclipse—which is ruled by Mercury—urges a release of all the not-so-helpful Virgo traits like (excessive) self-deprecation, (unhealthy) perfectionism, and the (obsessive) need to control and/or fix everything. Remember: it’s still Pisces season, so you’re still being encouraged to surrender, to let go and let flow…If that’s a lot easier said than done for you (like it is for me), the Virgo Lunar Eclipse is going to make it obvious. (On the world’s stage, I think we’re seeing it: the erosion of systems and organizations, and dwindling approval ratings.) The Sun & the eclipse both trine Uranus in Taurus on Friday, so an ah-ha! moment of clarity, an ingenious idea, or a completely random outcome about the way forward is likely.
Afterwards, Mercury Retrograde in Aries begins a slowdown and a backtrack of your identity, your voice, your pioneering ideas, and maybe your spark. Think of this as less of a setback and more of a time for a comeback. Mercury Rx will almost certainly slow things down. You’ll only have a problem with this if you, like me, hate slowing down. If that’s the case, remember that pausing and reassessing the direction you’re heading in is an important part of the growth/achievement process. It’s like checking in with the GPS on a long trip, you know? Delayed launches, bold public statements that are immediately retracted, and political backtracking is 1000% likely.
Anyway, that’s the gist. Here’s the actual astrology:
March 11 – Mercury conjunct Venus Rx in Aries, 8°
March 12 – Sun conjunct Saturn in Pisces, 21°
March 13 / 14 – South Node Lunar Eclipse in Virgo, 23°
March 14 – Sun in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus, 24°
March 14 – Mercury stations Retrograde in Aries, 9°
🔥 March 11 – Mercury conjunct Venus in Aries
We need to talk. That’s what this astrology might have you saying, as talk planet Mercury lines up with love planet Venus (who is very retrograde at the moment). In Aries, the two urge honest, forthright conversations, just be wary of brutal honesty. Mercury translates whatever planet it comes into contact with, so it’s saying something about relationships, connection, social cohesion, creativity and the value of it all. This astro is close to a sextile to Jupiter in Gemini (which is ruled by Mercury), so there’s some luck, a boost, and maybe a little bit too much confidence. Say what you want to say, just maybe think first…
⏳ March 12 – Sun Conjunct Saturn in Pisces
Reality check incoming… When the Sun and Saturn conjoin, it’s a moment of serious, sobering accountability. If you’ve been slacking on your goals or avoiding the truth about your situation (the situation being wherever Pisces is in your chart), then Saturn might give you a wake-up call. But don’t stress! This is a day to get serious and to commit to what really matters. Planning, journaling, and/or creating a new mission statement for yourself are all encouraged…
✂️ March 13/14 South Node Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
Release. Reorganize. Reclaim. OK, eclipse energy is intense, sure—but this one? It’s way more about letting go of what’s not working than it is about throwing life into chaos. Virgo loves the details, the habits, and the routines—but which ones are running (or perhaps ruining) your life? If something feels extra draining (a toxic job? A perfectionism spiral?) and it’s zapping your imagination, intuition, and creative energy, this eclipse is your excuse to release it, reorganize it, and reclaim your order…

💡 March 14 – Sun Sextile Uranus (March 14)
Expect the unexpected. Uranus sextile the Sun could bring one of those good surprises—like finding $20 in your coat pocket. But mostly, it supports a shake-up to the system. (What system, you ask?) ANY SYSTEM!) If you’re feeling stuck, uninspired, or listlessly bored with life, Sun sextile Uranus reminds you that change can be exciting. So, say yes to the unexpected. Just remember: this astrology lands the same day as the lunar eclipse and Mercury Retrograde. Change might be what you need, but you might not know that you want it just yet…
🔥March 14 – Mercury Retrograde in Aries
Remember what I said: Mercury Retrograde is not the end of the world! Yes, it gets a bad rap, but it can actually be very helpful for figuring out your next step. In Aries, Mercury slows down the inspiring, feisty, pioneering ideas and words that want to fire off at a rapid speed. Think of this as your chance to rethink, rewrite, and reclaim your voice, actions, and pursuits. You might feel like everything needs to be said and done RIGHT NOW, but the retrograde is teaching you a lesson in patience. So, let ideas simmer before you act on them. And maybe double-check your texts before hitting send…
