Now Is the Time to Bet on Yourself
This Week’s Astrology May 10th - 16th, 2026
✨ Surprise—I’m a filmmaker now. (I mean, I always was. You’re just now finding out.) Learn more about my short film, Queens of Noise, right here on Substack, and follow the journey on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook so you don’t miss a thing. I’ll be talking more about the film on these platforms very soon!
✨I don’t write weekly forecasts every week—only when the astrology earns it. This week? It earns it, but my focus is always strategy > prediction: what matters, and how to work with it. For a full day-by-day breakdown of every transit around career, money, and goals—with tips for working with it all—the 2026 Cosmic Calendar has everything you need.
Growth, luck, and clarity are on the table this week—the question is whether you’re ready to claim them. As the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter open a door for your most auspicious plans, you’ll find success with what is ready for it. Because from May 10th through May 16th, we have a four-part planetary sequence where clarity, confidence, and optimism are all pointing in the same direction: towards you. There’s nothing rare about the upcoming astrology, but there is a lot of potential. Potential for growth. Potential for abundance. Potential for success. Potential to turn big plans into real ones—but to leverage all this cosmic promise, you’ve got to align your mind and sense of self, infuse practical belief into what you’re already growing, and be bold enough to bet on yourself.
Stop Waiting for Good Luck to Find You (It Won’t)
You know that quote, “luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity?” It’s an attributed phrase from the philosopher Seneca (though there’s debate about whether he actually said it). Recently, I read a newsletter where the author expounded on that phrase, contrasting the difference between Good Luck and Raw Luck. His argument is that Raw Luck is all around us all the time, but Good Luck is not. Good Luck isn’t something you inadvertently stumble upon because of unpredictable forces (that’s Raw Luck). Instead, Good Luck is something you create for yourself because you are prepared for it. Because you bet on yourself.
The more I think about this, the more eye-opening it is. There have been countless times in my life when I could’ve gotten lucky or I was expecting an opportunity to fall into my lap and a jackpot of success to rain over me—because the Raw Luck was there—but I didn’t find luck because I wasn’t ready for the luck. I didn’t YOLO or carpe diem, or prepare for enough to create my own Good Luck. (Ah, Wisdom, thy name is Camille!) Tbh, it’s always been a bit of a struggle for me to fully bet on myself and believe in what I’m doing.

And on Shark Tank (which I have been religiously watching as of late), when entrepreneurs don’t know their numbers through and through, or they’ve launched a product two months prior and have only made $19,000 (only!), the Sharks label the business “too early” for investment and send the hopeful entrepreneur back home. That’s the difference between Raw Luck and Good Luck. The Raw Luck is there—the Sharks have money, experience—but the ill-prepared entrepreneur didn’t do enough to turn that Raw Luck into their own Good Luck. The Sharks aren’t always willing to bet on a flier.
Anyway, I bring all this up because there are multiple transits this week involving Jupiter in Cancer. The Sun, Moon, and Mercury meet up with the planet of plenty, laying the ground work for Good Luck. Buuuuut there’s this myth that Jupiter transits bring you luck without you doing anything at all. (Incidentally, that’s one of the bigger themes I explore in my novel, Jupiter Returns.) Sure, opportunities for success are always around us, but if we aren’t prepped to meet them—we don’t have the book written, the film finished, the product, or the unwavering self-belief—then we won’t receive them. The luck won’t break. The jackpot won’t hit. And the windfall opportunity will topple into the lap of someone who is ready.
