It’s a Mercury week. The megaphone planet is fixing its microphone on Jupiter and Chiron, cranking up the volume on big-picture plans and personal wounds, before slowing the scroll and moving into Taurus. Translation? This is a week for thinking, talking, and reflecting on the things you actually want to do. Which, if you’re anything like me—frazzled, teetering the verge of burnout because you’re working on everything but the things you want to be working on—that’s easier said than done.
Still, I challenge you (and me) to change that. Because this week’s astrology, though lighter and mostly uncomplicated, can help you recalibrate your desires and prioritize the things that you actually want to do. Reflect on the deeper, more profound changes you want to make in your life; listen to yourself, your ideas. Now’s the time to really do something about them. Now’s the time to align your plans and actions with your desires and prioritize what you want, what excites you, and what you love. So, if you want to be writing your novel (ahem, me), or you want to get a different job, launch new services, build a new business, but you haven’t “had time” to do it; this week is about making the time.
Because next week, Saturn moves into the anaretic 29th degree of Pisces! AND Monday’s Scorpio full moon will almost certainly bring emotional worms out of the dark and into the light. Which isn’t a bad thing—it’s called catharsis. But then, Saturday arrives with a volatile Sun-Uranus conjunction that is ALL ABOUT shocking the system and disrupting the status quo of leadership. Which is all fun astro-talk for: next week is way more dramatic and eventful.
And this week, things do start out loud. On Monday, Mercury sextiles Jupiter in Gemini, and it is urging us to speak up and speak out. It’s astrology that points to big ideas, bold messaging, and HYPE. (Which—fun fact for you fellow word weirdos—synonyms for hype include both propaganda and publicity. Take from that what you will.) I like this astrology, even if it leans towards hyperbolic. Jupiter is amplifying Mercury’s fiery rhetoric, and Mercury is turning up the volume of its microphone to broadcast Jupiter’s BIG ideas; since Mercury is the planet of import/export, sales, and trade deals, we’ll probably hear some news about the tariffs (again).
Come Tuesday, we’re getting raw and revealing as Mercury conjoins Chiron, and Venus sextiles Pluto Rx. With Venus sextile Pluto Rx, the trade deal / financial news could continue. This astrology points to bold economic or diplomatic moves (Venus in Aries) that digs up tech, finance, or power-sharing structures (Pluto in Rx). Then, Mercury and Chiron align in Aries, and collective wounds around war, conflict, and leadership enter the chat. Inflammatory rhetoric could trigger a pain point. (When doesn’t that happen, tbh?)
When we reach Saturday, the vibe downshifts from reactive to reflective, as we get a push from Mercury in Taurus to anchor all the mental momentum into something real and lasting. And comfortable. And probably lucrative. (Because Taurus loves money and comfort.) Mercury in Taurus says it’s time to get strategic about what’s next. Stability, security, and building over time are the main talking points. Anyway, that’s the gist. Here’s the actual astrology and how YOU can work with it:
May 5 – Mercury in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini, 22°
May 6 – Venus in Aries sextile Pluto Rx in Aquarius, 3°
May 6 – Mercury conjunct Chiron in Aries, 23°
May 10 – Mercury enters Taurus

❤️🩹May 6 – Mercury conjunct Chiron
When Mercury conjoins Chiron, it’s easy to say or hear the thing that stings. It’s also highly flammable astrology that could reignite the flames of anger, but it is also useful for having a direct conversation about your anger, your hurt, your PAIN. Old insecurities might creep in, but instead of spiraling into self-loathing and self-pity like I do, listen. Chiron reminds us there’s wisdom in the wound, but only if you face it.…

🐮May 10 - Mercury enters Taurus
Slow your scroll and ground your goals. After the dreamy but delusional swim of Mercury in Pisces and the fiery mental sprint of Mercury in Aries, it's time to downshift.
