What: Venus in Aquarius
When: Dec. 7 - Jan. 2, 2025
Who’s Impacted: EVERYONE, but esp. Aquarius and the other Air & Fixed signs.
Takeaway: The planet of ease, pleasure, and sweetness moves into the friendship-and-future-focused air sign, bringing a breeze of eccentric inventiveness to your relationships, creativity, and wallet.
For the past four or so weeks, Venus in Capricorn had you appreciating and prioritizing productivity, enterprise, and material things. But guess what? The time of being all businesslike in your relationships, austere with your affections, and stoically spendthrift-y is O-V-E-R! Venus in Aquarius is here, and it’s urging YOU to crank up your curiosity and get ready to get weird.
By now you probably know that Venus is the planet of love, beauty, values, money, creativity, and pleasure. You probably also know that Aquarius—an air sign—is as logical as it is emotionally cool, friendly as it is funny, and often shockingly (and endearingly?) bold in its weirdness. However, to get a better understanding of Venus in Aquarius’ vibe, I present to you the following case study: Sporty Spice.
The singer has Venus in Aquarius, and she was definitely the quirkiest of all the Spice Girls. Baby Spice had that “I’m a baby, gotta love me thing” going on, Posh was well, posh, and Scary and Ginger Spice both looked like contestants on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Each of those four chicks had that platform-heeled, long hair, beauty thing going for them—but Sporty Spice was different.
Sporty Spice stood out from the crowd. She was a little androgynous, a little masculine, and very unique. Instead of platforms, she wore sneakers; and in place of figure-hugging mini dresses and coiffed hair, Sporty Spice wore sports bras, track pants, and ponytails. This is big Venus in Aquarius energy. Not the whole Adidas tracksuits and high-ponies thing; no, I’m talking about leaning into your uniqueness, your innate eccentricity.
My brother has his natal Venus in Aquarius, and he never fails to surprise me with odd, totally unexpected Christmas / Birthday presents. Why? Because he gets creative, inventive, and weird. (Whether he does so intentionally or not, I’m still unsure and I’ve been his sibling for over three decades.) Sporty Spice & my bro prove that the best way to work with Venus in Aquarius? Act, dress, be, and behave differently. Deviate from the norms of your relationships, your style, and your art. March to a different drum beat. Proudly wave your freak flag.
In my horoscope for Mars Retrograde in Leo, I urged you to think about your why. Well, during Venus in Aquarius, you want to think about your weird. How can you be more experimental, more inventive, more rebellious—and, yes, weirder in your art and creative self-expression? In your relationships? In the way you express your fond feelings? How might tapping into your weirdness benefit your relationships, your self-worth, your connections, and your creativity?
As soon as Venus moves into Aquarius, it makes a conjunction to Pluto (also in Aquarius). This potent merging of planetary energies might reveal a few meaningful truths about your self-worth, values, relationships, and creativity; or it might help you face uncomfortable truths you’ve been long-avoiding. Pluto wants to dive deep into Venus’ pursuit of pleasure, get to the bottom of things, and help breakdown what is decaying or outdated. This might feel intense or temporarily dramatic.
