This Week’s Astrology Oct. 21 - Oct. 27
If you’re like me, then: a) you’re low-key panicking because it is nearly the end of October, (HOW? Can someone tell me why time keeps flying by at such a rapid pace?); and b) you have yet to recover from last week’s tumultuous astrology, and are low-key stressing as you scramble to pick up the pieces of what last week’s astrology shattered. If you’re not like me—ie: you’re a rational adult who can handle their emotions and your life didn’t get obliterated by the astrology of last week (more on that later), and you aren’t afraid of losing time—then maybe you’re excited about this week. Actually, there are many reasons to be excited about this week.
Well, OK. Maybe excited is the wrong word. Because the astrology of this week isn’t so much exciting and thrilling as it is supportive—but in a totally mundane, borderline boring way. (Given the stress of last week, I’ll take a supportive, boring week—nay, I won’t just take it; I welcome such a week with open arms and a sigh of relief!) About the only super-exciting thing is the onset of Scorpio season, which ~officially~ marks the beginning of Spooky season.
Monday brings focus, concentration, and unwavering commitment to a plan and/or a writing endeavor. Tuesday brings catharsis, transformation, and an opportunity to delve into the shadows—and that’s taking place before the Sun even enters Scorpio! Then, Scorpio season starts and is supported by an innovative kick-in-the-pants from Mars & Uranus. Anyway, that’s the gist of this week. Here’s the actual astrology:
Oct. 21 – Mercury in Scorpio trines Saturn Rx in Pisces, 21°
Oct. 22 – Sun squares Pluto in Capricorn, 29°
Oct. 22 – Sun enters Scorpio
Oct. 24 – Mars in Cancer sextiles Uranus Rx in Taurus, 27°

Oct. 21 – Mercury trines Saturn Rx
This is a preview to Scorpio season’s steadfast loyalty: Oct. 21, Mercury in Scorpio trines Saturn Rx in Pisces, making Monday a great day for diving deep into your feelings and using them to make an unbreakable vow of commitment. What’re you committing to? Well, it could be anything: your participation in 2024 NaNoWriMo, the building of your newfangled business venture, etc. Or, maybe you make a verbal oath of love & devotion to your partner. Either way, plans made on Monday are bonded with cosmic Gorilla Glue; so, they won’t unstick anytime soon…
Oct. 22 – Sun squares Pluto
Before the Sun even enters the fixed water sign on Oct. 22, it squares off with Pluto in the 29th degree, aka the anaretic (i.e.: CRITICAL) degree of Libra and Capricorn, respectively. So, there’s a purifying, powerful jolt to the end of Libra season. At 29 degrees, the Sun’s square to Pluto, the planet of catharsis, gives you one last chance to process the pains, hurts, and troubles you may have experienced during 2024 Libra season but were too detached and delulu to explore. (Libra is notorious for sweeping “ugly” things under the rug for the sake of so-called beauty, harmony, and peace.) I liken this brief, but powerful planetary transit to a crossing of the threshold: the Sun must face its shadows of the past before moving into the future of Scorpio season…
Oct. 22 – Sun enters Scorpio
And the Sun does just that! Scorpio season, which runs from Oct. 22 thru Nov. 21, encourages you to plunge into your passions, investigate your deep feelings and explore your shadows. But, you know, in a cute way. Spirituality is heightened this time of year, as is your interest in all things gothic, weird, and emotionally intense. Beyond all that, Scorpio season deepens your awareness of the world that lies beyond and brings us opportunities to sharpen our wits and strengthen our wills…

Oct. 24 – Mars sextiles Uranus Rx
Dare to do something (anything!) differently. Whatever feels stagnant, overly comfortable or sleepy, Uranus sextile Mars will stir awake and reanimate. Uranus rouses Mars’ energy, and the two are itching to do something as courageous as it is progressive, if not downright rebellious. To Uranus & Mars, familiarity is a foe, so do something that shakes up your everyday routine and fosters your inner innovator. What could be more rebellious than registering to vote (if you haven’t already) or grabbing my Astrology of Fame Workshop?
OK. So, I teased this earlier, but last week was very challenging for me. Long story short: I was “released” from a freelance position I had been working on since April. These events coincided with the Sun-Mars square, the Venus-Uranus opposition, AND the Aries full moon. That said, it was a stressful, emotionally tense week that taxed my nerves; I was also sick. So, this week’s posting schedule might be modified to account for some much-needed rest. Anyway, thanks for reading!
