On May 20th, the Sun shifts into chatty and charming Gemini, kicking off a brand new zodiac sign season of curiosity, connection, communication, and change. Lasting until June 20th, Gemini season brings a whirlwind of activity, change, and maybe even a little commotion. Oh, btw: HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEMINI!!! Gemini is the sign of duality; and in true dualistic nature, this Gemini season has two of the four BIGGEST SHIFTS of 2025: Saturn in Aries & Jupiter in Cancer. Big moves for cardinal signs, yes, but big shifts for everyone across the board. But before we get to what else is changing during 2025 Gemini season, let’s talk a bit about the sign and season itself.
As you probably already know, Gemini is an air sign, and in astrology, air is the element of the mind. It helps us rationalize, synthesize, and express our thoughts. Ruled by Mercury, the planet of thinking, speaking, writing, and learning, Gemini’s main goal is to communicate, connect with, learn from, and teach others. That’s because Gemini’s bigger role in astrology is to move around and circulate. Gemini isn’t supposed to be just one thing (and neither are the rest of us, really). During Taurus season, we build. We plant seeds and tend to the soil. It’s during Gemini season that the flowers and plants (i.e. the ideas, the goals, the projects) ripen, bloom, and propagate.

Just as bees flit from flower to flower, spreading pollen and facilitating growth, Gemini energy encourages us to connect, share ideas, and foster new relationships. It's a time of propagation: ideas multiply, circulate, and self-spawn into chit-chat and gossip. Thus, the circulation of information abounds during Gemini season. The Mercury-ruled air sign of all things talk and (idea) exchange, urges us to spread the word and answer the call of curiosity. So yes, ideas move quickly, news travels fast, and there’s a buzz of activity during Gemini season. It’s then a great time to get curious, explore different perspectives, and to stay open to the myriad of possibilities that come your way.
Whether it's through social media, casual conversations, or public speaking, this is the perfect time to get your message out there. Flirt with new ideas, new perspectives, new ways of doing things. Mental and social stimulation reign supreme, and so does change. (Why? Because Gemini energy gets bored easily.) Be prepared to say out with the old and in with the new, at least for now. The cosmic weather for 2025 Gemini season is PACKED. Seriously, there is so much happening during the next 30 days (I would expect no less from the zodiac’s most active busy body), that I don’t know if I can cover it all. So, I’m gonna talk about the MAJOR planetary transits (ingresses, retrogrades, that sort of thing) and save the minor transits for our This Week’s Astrology series.
However, I want to note the energetic shifts that make 2025 Gemini Season a time for change. Yes, Gemini is the sign of change—I often use the metaphor / image of Gemini being a “breath of fresh air” and it’s especially the case this year. Because over the next 30 days, we’re encountering some refreshing, revitalizing shifts. Venus & Mars are through with their post-retrograde shadows and are finally moving out of the signs they’ve been in since February (Venus) and September 2024 (Mars). This means forward progress for your finances, relationships, creativity, and motivation.
Then, Saturn and Jupiter make some major shifts, moving out of signs they’ve been in since May 2024 (Jupiter) and March 2023 (Saturn). Saturn is entering Aries for the first time in 30 years, and Jupiter is entering Cancer for the first time in 12 years. So, yeah: the winds of change are blowing. Big time.
