     Yep, it’s that time of the month again. On June 21, at 7:08 PM MST, we have our sixth full moon of 2024. (Which means we’re halfway through the year!) This June full moon, known as the Strawberry Moon, is the first full moon of Summer (in the Northern Hemisphere). Taking place in enterprising earth sign Capricorn, it’s a major lunation for your goals, career, ambitions and entrepreneurial pursuits.

     In typical Full Moon fashion, you want to focus on release. Release your expectations! Release your self-criticism, negative self-talk, or work-work-work mentality! Give yourself a break, celebrate your little wins, and don’t shy away from patting yourself on the back. Because I guarantee you: Something is reaching its completion, and big or small, this “something” holds meaning in your life.  

     For me, I’m celebrating the continued (slow) growth of the Cosmic Cannibal business and brand. (Which is oh-so Capricorn Full Moon of me, because Capricorn loves its legacy and branding!) I’m also releasing the expectations and intentions I had set for my novel, Jupiter Returns, back in January. Because as I reach this six-month mark, my goals and ambitions for the book, as well as the reality of the situation have changed. I’m no longer interested in getting a literary agent; instead, I’m doing the Capricorn thing and steering my own ship, becoming my OWN boss, and taking the matter into my own hands by publishing the book myself!

     So, what’s going on with YOUR goals and ambitions? How have you grown or changed since late December / early January? What were your goals or New Year resolutions? Have you reached them? Or have they, like many other things in life, shifted as you’ve navigated through 2024? How can YOU boss-up in your life, take things into your own hands, and be the CEO?? 

     Maybe you have an exact answer to these questions, maybe you don’t, but here’s the thing: Six months ago, the Capricorn new moon (hopefully) had you thinking seriously about our career goals and ambitions. Now, it’s time to examine any (unrealistic and) unmet expectations for those goals and let that sh*t go. This might mean you literally release all expectations you had for 2024 and start over; or, it might just mean you do a six-month check-in, assessing what you’ve done / haven’t done, what’s working/not working, and what you want to continue moving forward with. 

     The Capricorn full moon is nearing an opposition to Venus in Cancer, so there’s an added emphasis on relationships. And this may not be literal in that your relationships are reaching their end, but maybe your relationship to your goal(s) are reaching their peak. Maybe your values are shifting, maybe your definition of security and safety has changed. Mercury in Cancer and Mars in Taurus are in supportive alignment, helping to put this Full Moon on solid ground. Decisions made about your life thus far can be intuitively guided (Mercury in Cancer) yet executed with determination and persistence (Mars in Taurus). It’s a great time for taking action on plans that require both emotional insight and practical steps.
