*Oof, there were some incorrect astrology dates in the previous forecast, so I’ve fixed all that and resent it. Sorry!
JUNE IS ALMOST OVER. How did this happen? I’m shook. But I’m also going to be real here: this final week of June gets off to a strained start before things get #blessed, and then everything is strained again. It’s also a busy week, with a transit everyday. Cancer Season is still getting its sea legs. (And I’m still finalizing your Cancer Season Forecast. Sorry, but good things take time.) First, the Sun in Cancer moves away from its tense square against heavy-hitter Saturn on Sunday and creeps towards another square to dreamy Neptune in Aries. Then, the Sun cozies up to Jupiter and the Moon, offering us a potent rebirth (for luck, abundance, security), before linking arms with Mars. After this, Mercury takes center stage, moving into Leo and making all sorts of aspects from Thursday on. That’s the gist of this week. Here’s the actual astrology:
June 23 – Sun in Cancer square Neptune in Aries, 2°
June 24 – Sun in Cancer conjoin Jupiter in Cancer (cazimi), 3°
June 25 – New Moon in Cancer, 4°
June 26 – Jupiter in Cancer square Neptune in Aries, 2°
June 26 – Mercury in Cancer sextile uranus in Taurus, 29°
June 26 – Sun in Cancer sextile Mars in Virgo, 5°
June 26 – Mercury enters Leo
June 27 – Mercury in Leo trine Saturn in Aries, 1°
June 28 – Mercury in Leo trine Neptune in Aries, 2°
June 29 – Mercury in Leo opposite Pluto Rx in Aquarius, 3°
See how busy it is? See how much astrology is happening? It’s crazy—but much of this week’s astro has the potential to be exceedingly helpful for you. Sort of.
As the Sun moves away from its square to Saturn (June 22) and towards its square to Neptune (June 23), we’re feeling the emotional whiplash. There’s pressure (Saturn) to act (Aries), even though you’re still processing your feelings (Sun in Cancer), and meanwhile, Neptune’s fog machine is on full blast, making it difficult to tell if you’re stepping forward with bravery or just marching into a courage mirage. (Or like the U.S. saying the bombing of Iran was a “spectacular military success” without any proof of it being so.) Collectively, we can expect national tension around safety, security, belonging, and identity—especially as Saturn demands accountability and Neptune distorts our sense of what’s true, what’s myth, and what’s just plain manipulation.
For you, these two squares are a reminder that you can’t hide in your shell forever. You might feel a pull to protect your space and your people, but the universe is not vibing with emotional hibernation anymore. The Sun in Cancer wants to nurture and feel something, while Saturn and Neptune in Aries are yelling, “MOVE. NOW.” So, from June 20 - 23, you’re being asked to take emotionally aligned action—not fantasy-fueled flailing, not passive martyrdom, but real, raw, uncomfortable movement toward the thing you actually want (and may be a little terrified to admit).
After the rough-and-tumble square between the Sun, Saturn, and Neptune—where your dreams probably got side-eyed by reality and your motivation felt soggy and confused—the cosmos finally throws us a bone. And not just any bone: a glittering, gilded femur of fortune. Enter: the Jupiter Cazimi and New Moon in Cancer, both happening within days of each other, both in one of the most emotionally fertile, creatively potent, and spiritually tender signs of the zodiac.
Let’s start with the Jupiter Cazimi in Cancer on Tuesday. A cazimi is when a planet is in the heart of the Sun, which sounds romantic and a little dangerous—because it is. This is Jupiter’s cosmic rebirth, a moment of insight, clarity, and amplification. It’s like the lights finally flick on and the megaphone turns up: Jupiter’s big-picture brilliance and benevolent boost get supercharged. Think: breakthroughs in vision, hope, generosity, and the sense that maybe, just maybe, things can turn around. But you’ve got to believe in it, that’s the trick.
The Cancer new moon on June 25 is packed with promise, thanks to that close connection to Jupiter. Cardinal sign New Moons (so, new moons in Capricorn, Cancer, Libra, or Aries) are excellent days for starting new ventures, launching new ideas / projects, or planting seeds for entrepreneurial endeavors. A new moon in Cancer is extra lush, because the Moon rules Cancer, so it's happy. The soil for your seeds is perfect for planting. The conjunction to Jupiter means there’s fertilizer already in the soil. All you’ve got to do is dream big and believe in what you want.
By Thursday (June 26), Mercury in Cancer makes a quick sextile to Uranus in Taurus (both at 29 degrees). This is a brief ah-ha moment, great for brainstorming out-of-the-box ideas, but it might also align with “surprise” news and/or a technological-based conversation. This happens before Mercury ~officially~ moves into dramatic, flamboyant Leo. Also happening Thursday day is an energizing sextile between the Sun in Cancer and Mars in Virgo. But Mercury in Leo steals the spotlight for the rest of the week, making trines to Saturn on Friday (June 27) and Neptune on Saturday (June 28), before opposing Pluto Rx in Aquarius on Sunday (June 29).
Even though Mercury transits tend to get fewer headlines than other planets, I don’t think this is going to be the case with Mercury in Leo. Mostly because transits in Leo are desperate for attention and yearning to shine in the spotlight. No matter what. Leo is, by nature, a flamboyant, attention-grabbing fire sign. With Mercury—the planet of communication, messaging, thinking, and public speaking—in dramaturgical Leo, you can expect some melodramatic new headlines, televised addresses, social media beefs, and/or PR statements.
Any time Mercury comes in contact with another planet, it broadcasts that planet’s messages. And, depending on the aspect between Mercury and the planet, that message will look different. So, with Mercury opposing Pluto Rx (June 29), there’s tension. The message is strained. The news headlines are about stand-offs between powerful people (Pluto in Aquarius) and their dramatic demands / plans (Mercury in Leo); we will probably see a continued conversation about nuclear energy (Pluto in Aquarius). The Moon also moves into Leo on Thursday, doubling the histrionic emotional undercurrent and hunger for drama.
Mercury trine Saturn on Friday (June 27) is helpful for getting your thoughts together and turning them into a plan; Saturn in Aries wants you to forge your fire into a container (of sorts), and Mercury in Leo provides a bit of stability and targeted creative ideas. Ditto for Saturday’s Mercury-Neptune trine. This is lovely astrology for creative thinking, for dramatic daydreaming, for letting your current passionate ideas inspire your writing / speaking / or plans. Collectively, we could see this Mercury trine Neptune align with some sort of media blitz of mythological proportions. By which I mean: be careful that what you hear / read / see (in the news especially) is what you think it is; Mercury trine Neptune can be quite a liar. So, it’s great for writing fiction or a screenplay; but it’s not so great for the Truth.
