Happy Monday! How’re things after that dramatic Leo Full Moon? If you’re like me, you might’ve been at once depleted and energized by that lunation. (And if you haven’t yet set intentions, don’t worry! There’s still time.) The incredible thing about this week’s astrology is that it provides an energetic boost just in time.
It’s true, this week is bookended with good vibes and very supportive astrology. You start off the week on a triumphant note, thanks to a positive connection between Mars & Uranus. Mars, the planet of action, energy and enterprise, is currently in the sign of its exaltation: Capricorn. While Uranus, the planet of innovation and originality, has just stationed direct in Taurus. So, the action planet has you primed and ready to tackle your goals, and Uranus is bringing a dash of newness to your approach. This carries you through the week.
Come Friday, Mercury, which is also in Capricorn, briefly rubs elbows with Neptune in Pisces. Mercury is the planet of the mind, intellect and communication; Neptune is the planet of dreams, illusions and inspiration. When these two planets come together, you can expect a soft boost of creative thinking—or, at the very least, a stronger-than-usual urge to daydream. The good news is Mercury in Capricorn’s practical approach will help you stay grounded.
Of course, that’s the gist of this week. Here’s the actual astrology and more of what it means for YOU:
Jan. 29 – Mars trine Uranus
Feb. 2 – Mercury in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces
Jan. 29 – Mars trine Uranus
The Mars trine Uranus transit, especially when both planets are in earth signs (Mars in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus), brings a harmonious and supportive aspect between the energies of action-oriented Mars and the unpredictable, innovative nature of Uranus.
Mars represents energy, drive, and assertiveness. The trine aspect to Uranus amplifies these qualities, providing you with a surge of energy and motivation. You may feel more daring and ready to take on challenges that you might have hesitated to approach before. What’s more, Uranus is the planet of innovation and originality. So, with the trine to Mars, your actions are infused with creativity and a willingness to experiment. This is an excellent time to try new methods, take risks, and embrace unconventional approaches to problem-solving.
Both Mars and Uranus are associated with independence, and their harmonious trine accentuates this quality. You may find yourself more inclined to assert your individuality and pursue personal goals with determination. Beyond this, Capricorn's influence on Mars adds a disciplined and strategic dimension to your actions. Combined with Uranus in Taurus, there's potential for efficient and productive endeavors. Focus on long-term goals and apply your energy to projects that align with your values.
Uranus is known for bringing unexpected events and surprises. During this trine, these surprises may align with your actions, leading to breakthroughs or sudden advancements. Stay open to spontaneity and be flexible in your approach. If you encounter obstacles or challenges, this transit encourages you to think outside the box. Uranus can provide unique solutions, and the trine to Mars enhances your ability to implement these solutions effectively.
Feb. 2 – Mercury sextile Neptune
The Mercury sextile Neptune transit involves Mercury, the planet of communication and intellect, forming a harmonious aspect with Neptune, the planet associated with dreams, intuition, and inspiration. Mercury sextile Neptune creates a favorable link between the practicality of Mercury in Capricorn and the imaginative, intuitive qualities of Neptune in Pisces. This is an excellent transit for creative brainstorming and practical application. Here’s why:
Mercury represents the mind, communication, and thought processes. In Capricorn, Mercury adopts a practical and disciplined approach to thinking. Capricorn is an earth sign, emphasizing structure, organization, and long-term planning. Thus, Mercury in Capricorn tends to focus on concrete details and practical matters, making decisions based on logic and strategy.
Neptune, however, is associated with intuition, creativity, dreams, and the subconscious mind. In Pisces, Neptune is in its home sign, emphasizing sensitivity, compassion, and a deep connection to the mystical and spiritual realms. Pisces is a water sign, and Neptune in Pisces encourages a more intuitive and emotionally attuned way of thinking.
Mercury sextile Neptune enhances creativity, while encouraging practical and disciplined thinking to blend seamlessly with intuition and inspiration. It's a favorable time for expressing ideas in a creative or artistic manner, such as through writing, music, or visual arts. As far as writing & communication, these two areas may be infused with empathy and understanding, facilitating compassionate and meaningful conversations. There's potential for increased receptivity to subtle cues and non-verbal communication, making it a good time for deepening connections with others.
