Across the board, this week’s astrology is potent but sooo refreshing. Monday has a creative / dreamy / idealistic vibe, and Friday brings stable devotion and creative / relationship resolve. In between all of that are two major (and I do mean major) shifts. The first is Pluto in Aquarius and the second is Sagittarius season. Normally, a new zodiac season isn’t cause for the word major, but as soon as the Sun enters Sagittarius, ushering us into the season of exploration and excitement, it sextiles Pluto, the planet of hidden power. The main reason why this particular Sun-Pluto sextile is noteworthy is because of well, you guessed it: Pluto in Aquarius.
Yep, it’s here. The BIGGEST shift of 2024. On Nov. 19, the planet of destruction and regeneration enters the fixed air sign and stays there until March 8, 2043. That means we’re moving into a 20-year cycle of innovation, technological advancements, and power to the people. That also means we’ll never see, experience, or glower at Pluto in Capricorn AGAIN. (Unless, of course, you live for another 248 years and witness the planet of catharsis re-enter the cardinal earth sign, which I don’t want to do—but maybe you do. And in that case, you do you.)
I recently posted a TikTok about Pluto in Aquarius for fixed signs, explaining why it’s not terrible news, and—surprise, surprise—I’ve been getting a fair bit of flack for it. (Apparently, I missed the memo that astrologers are supposed to incite fear and anxiety instead of offering positive, constructive insights. #Sarcasm.) A lot of people in the comments section are pointing to the “chaos” of Pluto in Capricorn as proof that Pluto in Aquarius will be equally “awful” for fixed signs. I beg to differ.
Yes, Pluto is an intense transit, but it’s also transformative—if you’re willing to lean into the change instead of running from it. But most of the time—and I speak from experience here—we do run from change and the things that could transform our lives. Which is why I believe the fear around transits like this is less about Pluto itself and more about change. Change is hard. It requires letting go of what’s familiar and comfortable in exchange for something new and uncertain, and uncertainty freaks us out. So, that’s why I think people are afraid of / reacting negatively to Pluto in Aquarius.
The interesting thing about this week is when Sun enters Sagittarius on Nov. 21 and moves on to sextile Pluto in Aquarius, it actually helps us get excited about change, or excited and hopeful about the future (at least, that’s how I’d work with the astrology, by leaning into its optimism.) Determination, and purposefulness; harnessing obsessive attention to achieve something—those are also on the menu for the Sun-Pluto sextile. Hence: potent yet refreshing!
Earlier in the week, something you say / write / send has the potential to blow up—in a good way—thanks to an opposition from Mercury to Jupiter Rx. So, think about the messages you want to send this week, think about the things you want to say, the books or stories you want to write, but mostly think about the future you want for yourself and for the collective. This week’s astrology is here to help you dream big and achieve something even bigger. Anyway, that’s the gist, here’s the actual astrology:
Nov. 18 – Sun in Scorpio trines Neptune Rx in Pisces, 27°
Nov. 18 – Mercury in Sagittarius opposes Jupiter Rx in Gemini
Nov. 19 – Pluto enters Aquarius, like FOR REAL
Nov. 21 – Sun enters Sagittarius
Nov. 21 – Sun sextiles Pluto, 0°
Nov. 22 – Venus in Capricorn sextiles Saturn in Pisces, 12°
Nov. 18 – Sun in Scorpio trines Neptune Rx in Pisces, 27°
Equal parts dark, dreamy, and mystical, Sun trine Neptune cranks up the witchy vibes. Pay attention to any nebulous ideas or daydreamy downloads about a creative project or personal aspiration; this astrology is like a crystal ball. There’s something—a message, a feeling, a hunch—swimming in the clouds, and though you might not fully “see” it, you can sense it…
Nov. 18 – Mercury in Sagittarius opposes Jupiter Rx in Gemini, 18°
Mercury is the counter, the communicator, and the megaphone. Jupiter is the expander, the exaggerator, the magnifier. (Both planets rule writing and publishing, btw.) When they oppose each other, there’s lots of potential to exaggerate the importance of a single idea—or news story—but also lots of luck, expansion, and exuberance in your communications. If you want to get people excited about something, today’s the day to send out the email. This is the first of three times this transit will happen, as Mercury stations retrograde next Monday.

Nov. 19 – Pluto enters Aquarius FOR GOOD
In all honesty, there isn’t an astrologer out there who has a real grasp on what this transit will ultimately bring. However, we can surmise that Pluto’s long stay in Aquarius means slow but impactful transformations for society and technology. Of course, it’s not just about technology. Or aliens. Or AI (though they’re part of it); it’s more largely about collective evolution.
Pluto in Aquarius, like any transit, isn’t all “bad” or all “good.” It’s nuanced. Yes, it will challenge signs to adapt and evolve, and yes, this might mean releasing old attachments or confronting change. But in the same breath, it offers an opportunity to harness its constructive qualities: rebirth, renewal, and the reimagining of power structures, both personally and collectively (especially collectively, since Aquarius is the sign of the people). In Aquarius, this transformation might center on technology, innovation, and social reform, amplifying individuality and freedom.
Astrology works best when we look at the bigger picture, embracing both the challenges and opportunities of transits like these. Pluto’s intensity is real, but its gifts of empowerment and transformation are just as potent. It’s all about perspective and how we engage with the energy…

Nov. 21 – Sun enters Sagittarius
Sagittarius season inspires us to expand our horizons and achieve abundance each and every year. Collectively, this translates into a widespread urge to let loose and find meaning in our everyday lives. Known in astrology as the adventurer, Sagittarius (represented by the Archer) is an endlessly curious, friendly, and sometimes dramatic mutable fire sign. During this season, we feel an unquenchable wanderlust and thirst for exploration and self-expression alongside our best buds, be they books, pets, hiking trails, or in-the-flesh friends…

Nov. 21 – Sun sextile Pluto, 0°
A sextile is a supportive aspect in astrology; it brings ease, opportunity, and growth through effort, collaboration, and mutual benefit. Sextiles can also sometimes bring lucky breaks, if you choose to act on the opportunities they create. With the Sun in fiery (and lucky!) This is great astrology to work with if you need to harness your will, focus your creativity, or reach out to someone of influence. Taking place at 0°, a critical degree of fresh / unlimited potential, AND new beginnings, this sextile is also a marker for a potent rebirth…

The planet of love, art, and beauty gets a lucky break from the planet of restriction and limits. Creatively, this is great astrology to work with if you need a little help putting in the effort on your latest masterpiece (be it book, painting, or song). You may find yourself making a vow to enjoy more of the little treats that life has to offer, getting serious about your relationship, or comfortably creating a holiday budget. Either way, committing to joy, ease, pleasure, and connection isn’t just easier, it’s encouraged…
