This is looking like ANOTHER week full of standoffs, tension, and cosmic side-eyes. The sky’s doing that thing again—where it’s all “growth is painful” and “lessons come disguised as confusion” and you’re like, “Cool, I didn’t ask.” It’s frustrating. It’s conflicting. It’s hella chaotic, but hear me out: while the astrology is thick with friction, it’s not all doom and delulu. In fact, you might actually feel motivated. Fired up. Frustrated, yes—but in a way that pushes you to move, to figure things out, to finally start the thing you’ve been avoiding. This isn’t passive tension—it’s “I need to make a decision because I’m tired of spiraling” tension.
That’s all thanks to the squares heating up between Jupiter & the Sun in Cancer (big feels, big dreams, big ugh) and Saturn & Neptune in Aries (boundaries vs. fantasy, work vs. willpower). Oh—and in case that wasn’t enough? Uranus enters the 29th degree of Taurus, aka the “do not disturb” setting for fixed earth energy. Except Uranus is the disruptor, so things will be disturbed. So yeah, it’s a little crunchy out there. It’s a little (or a lot) chaotic this week. But tension doesn’t always mean bad. Sometimes it just means get off your ass and GO.
As someone with numerous squares (and an anaretic degree placement) in her birth chart, I can honestly say that I’m biased—just not in the way you might think. I don’t hate squares as much as other astrologers. Yes, they are Mars-like aspects that poke, provoke, and create (internal) pressure; and yes, they can incite conflict and a clash of wills—aka friction. But squares in cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn) don’t just create friction, they create dynamic, agitating, active friction; the kind that makes you want to get up, get going, and fight.
This week’s astrology has three cardinal sign squares, stretching from Wednesday to Sunday, all activating the Cancer and Aries parts of your chart. So, as we move away from Sunday’s tense Jupiter-Saturn square and into the week, you’ll probably notice that the dissent isn’t subsiding. There’s still a crackle in the air and a tinge of hostility—whether it’s obvious hostility (as is the case between Israel & Iran), the continuation of a petty squabble (Newsom vs. Trump media feud), or some new rivalry between other public figures desperate for the spotlight remains to be seen. All the astrology tells us is: leaders are clashing, discord abounds, and actions must be taken.
June 16 – Uranus enters the 29th degree of Taurus (CRISIS alert)
June 17 – Sun in Gemini sextile Chiron in Aries, 26°
June 17 – Mars enters Virgo
June 18 – Jupiter in Cancer square Neptune in Aries, 2°
June 20 – Sun enters Cancer
June 22 – Mars in Virgo sextile Jupiter in Cancer, 2°
June 22/23 – Sun in Cancer square Saturn in Aries, 1°
June 22/23 – Sun in Cancer square Neptune in Aries, 2°
If things feel chaotic right now, it’s because they are; and the astrology of 2025 told us it would be this way. We’ve already seen two major outer planetary shifts this year, when Neptune and Saturn moved into Aries, and we’re heading towards a third one in July. (Uranus enters Gemini for the first time since the 1940s.) Before that, Uranus, the planet of disruptions and dismantlement, must wrap up its journey through Taurus. And it enters the final, 29th degree of the earth sign on Monday (June 16). This means two things:
It’s crunch time for the Taurus part of your life / chart, and all the things that you’re wanting to upend, pivot on, and change;
All this chaos, upheaval, disruption and lack of stability is going to intensify.
I guess the silver lining with Uranus at the 29th degree of Taurus is that it puts change, revolution, and innovation in the spotlight. The not-so-silver lining: this is a moment of crisis, a turning point in the Uranus in Taurus story. This degree is notorious for fated shakeups, last-minute plot twists, and “I didn’t see that coming but it checks out” moments—especially around money, stability, self-worth, and whatever you’ve been clinging to out of comfort, not conviction. As the planet aims to finish its jaunt through the stable, materially-minded earth sign, we’re likely to see a culmination of economic instability, financial uncertainty, labor and workforce upheavals. (More on that to come.)
The Sun in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries on Tuesday (June 17). This illuminates the identity / authority / leadership / toxic masculinity wounds still alive and kicking; the Sun in Gemini shines a light, yes, but it’s also getting us talking. About egotistical leaders who abuse power. About authoritarianism. For you, personally, it’s all about looking at what hurts in the Aries part of your chart, what issues around your identity, autonomy, leadership, and/or confidence you’re still working through. Write them down, talk it out.
One light on the horizon: Mars finally wraps up its vicious circle in Cancer-Leo, an action-reaction-retrograde hellscape that we’ve been in since September 2024. The planet of action, energy, and motivation moves into Virgo on June 17, helping us attack the details and fine-tune our motivation. Though nitpicky and restless at times, Mars in Virgo is a workhorse; it gives us the grit to get toiling and the fussiness to make sure we cover all our bases. So, get nitpicky. Get fussy. Get mad about the details, the data, and the minutiae. Zero-in on the nitty-gritty of your goals, map out the exact steps you need to take towards them, and clarify the dates and the to-dos. Then, get to work.
By Wednesday (June 18), Jupiter, planet of going big or going home, officially slides out of its sobering square to Saturn and stumbles headfirst into a much mushier, murkier square to dreamy, delusional Neptune in Aries. And let’s just say—it’s giving faith crisis with a side of existential meltdown. This square clouds both decision-making and big-picture vision, like someone smeared Vaseline on your inner telescope. Your grand dreams might suddenly seem dumb, or your belief in the future might flicker like a dying Wi-Fi signal.
So, wherever Jupiter in Cancer is trying to grow you (like an overwatered houseplant in the wrong window), Neptune in Aries could have you chasing a mirage or straight-up gaslighting yourself. “Am I being brave...or am I insane for believing in this?” becomes the question of the week. There’s this tension between comfort and courage, between safety and something more spiritually spicy—but the path forward? Still TBD. This foggy faith funk doesn’t let up. In fact, it intensifies.
But first, the Sun enters Cancer on Friday (June 20), officially ushering in Solstice and all the watery feels that only Cancer season brings. This should be a soothing shift, but Saturday (June 21), Jupiter sextiles Mars, giving us a burst of momentum and motivation—it’s a very victorious or exuberant moment—then the Sun hits squares to Saturn and Neptune. The Sun wants to shine and feel, but Saturn in Aries says “prove it,” and Neptune says “but what is even real?” So, it’s an emotional whiplash. You’re motivated and moving, but bumping into big doubts, boundaries, and blurry lines.
Also worth noting: the degrees are LOUD this week. As mentioned, Uranus enters the 29th degree of Taurus, which is the final boss level of fixed earth chaos. Expect curveballs, flash insights, or sudden shake-ups related to values, money, or security. Then, the Sun-Chiron sextile on June 19 hits at 26°, offering a subtle but meaningful moment of healing around courage, visibility, and personal pain. And those Jupiter/Sun squares to Saturn/Neptune and the Jupiter/Mars sextile? All landing at 1–2°, which means they’re speaking directly to the fresh start stories of these planetary placements. This isn’t the finale—it’s the setup.
So if you’re feeling confused, stuck, or like your future just put you on hold, you’re not alone. This is all part of the still-unfolding, messy middle story between dreaming big and facing reality, between what you want and what you’re willing to work for, between hope and delusion. You don’t have to figure it out yet. You just have to stay in it and keep going.
